Job Description

The Project Geologist will be required to execute exploration and geological related activities in service to the Group to support the exploration and evaluation of potential mineralisation and mineral resources


Key responsibilities would include: 
  • Conduct field studies and surveys to collect geological samples and data.
  • Analyse geological data using specialized software and tools.
  • Interpret geological data to identify potential resource deposits.
  • Develop geological models and maps for exploration projects.
  • Collaborate with drilling teams to provide geological guidance.
  • Prepare and present reports on geological findings.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations during exploration activities.
  • Evaluate the economic feasibility of mining sites based on geological data.
  • Use remote sensing and GIS technology for geological mapping.
  • Monitor and assess drilling and sampling activities.
  • Advise on best practices for resource extraction and site rehabilitation.
  • Stay updated with the latest geological research and exploration techniques.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Post graduate degree in Geology (BSc Hons)
  • Membership with professional geological societies

Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of geology-related experience.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with geological modelling software.
  • Experience with implicit modelling or stochastic modelling.
  • Knowledge of Minerals Systems Frameworks
  • Knowledge of remote sensing and GIS technology.
  • Previous experience in mineral exploration.
  • Strong understanding of sedimentology, stratigraphy, and geochemistry.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work in remote and challenging environments.
  • Experience with environmental impact assessments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Field experience in geological surveying and data collection.
  • Proficiency in using geological software and tools.
  • Good understanding of geological principles and processes.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work in remote locations.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in exploration.
